The Ortho-k lens principle is based upon the fact that myopia is caused by a corneal convexity and through the lens this convexity can be subdued a little bit. It has the same effect as doing a LASIK or laser surgery. However, when the cornea returns to its normal shape, the lens has to be worn again. That period can vary from people to people. However, the average is 2-7 days and it can last longer if worn for a longer period of time .

Side Effects?                                             

There are no known side effects until now. Except the discomfort when wearing a normal RGP lens. Do Ortho-K LK lenses hurt?                   

No. The lenses are made out of highly gas permeable material which allows lots of oxygen through to the cornea. The design of OrthoK lenses is such that there is a large Tear pool under the lens which helps make them comfortable. For patients who have never worn Rigid lenses before, we suggest that they wear them for about 2 hours on the night before they first sleep in the lenses.

Safety                                                        

Consider this. Daily wear contacts are worn 12-16 hours per day. Extended wear contacts are worn 24 hours per day. Ortho-K overnight lenses are worn 8 hours per day. Which is safer?

 

Durability of Lens?                        

It may vary according to the way you keep your lens stored, but our principals guarantees up to 3 years. Use it safely. You must use Proper GP Cleaner to store and keep for a long time use.

No limits to the use.
